Consultation Overview

At your initial dental appointment at Prettau Implants of New Hampshire, Dr. St. Germain will carefully examine your teeth, gums, mouth, and throat, and perform an analysis of your bite. An initial visit at our office includes:

• A head and neck examination: This includes a cancer exam, using a VELScope®, which is an FDA-approved device to detect oral cancer, a facial exam, palpation of chewing muscles, palpation of lymph nodes, and an exam of the Temporomandibular (jaw) joint.
• A clinical dental examination: This includes a periodontal exam and examinations of the mobility of teeth, the mucous membranes, saliva, occlusion (bite), removable appliances, and contact between teeth. If we detect tooth decay or broken fillings, we will discuss appropriate action with you.
• A full set of digital X-rays
• Diagnostic casts as deemed necessary

Following this comprehensive examination, Dr St. Germain will sit with you, go over his findings, and give you a detailed, comprehensive treatment plan, including alternatives. This treatment plan will have as its objective the restoration of your mouth to complete health.
